President/Founder - Stephen T. McGovern
Involved in physical/personal security and self-defense for over 30 years Stephen has been heralded as "The White Knight of Women's Self-Defense". After 20 plus years of military service as a U.S. Navy Anti-terrorism Officer (ATO) and Security Forces Instructor he decided to bring his unique skills and expert knowledge to the public, specifically to women.
After graduating the Navy Security Force Academy he attended specific training with the San Diego County Sheriff's SWAT Academy in 1989 as part of a cooperative Navy Law Enforcement/Sheriff Department venture. This was followed by training through out 1989/90 under FBI instructors in Defensive Tactics and Weapons.
As a member of the Navy's Security/Anti-Terrorism Force Stephen's duties included, but were not limited to: Hostage Rescue Team Leader (SWAT), VIP Protection Team Leader, Anti- Terrorism/Force Protection Instructor, Weapons and Tactics Instructor, Defensive Tactics (Hand to Hand Combat) Instructor.
His military campaigns include: Operations- Restore Hope (Somalia), Desert Shield, Desert Storm, The Gulf War, Gallant Eagle, Enduring Freedom (911/Afganistan), Iraqi Freedom - War on Iraq.
Stephen continued his successful career and was eventually promoted to more leadership positions where he coordinated Naval security operations with the U.S. Secret Service and the FBI on Presidential, Vice Presidential and VIP visits to San Diego area, the U.S. Marshalls conducting "high risk" prisoner transfers of the worst of the worst in our criminal justice system, and was hand picked to lead a special security details including the safeguard of ship's and crew of China's People's Republic Army, Navy ships during their historic visit to the United States.
Additionally he has operated as Chief of Stage Security for country music stars: The Judds, Garth Brooks, Clint Black, Sawyer Brown and The Pirates of the Mississippi when these artists performed at naval bases in the San Diego area.
Stephen graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1994 with a degree in Aviation (Business) Management and earned certificates in both Leadership and Management from Harvard Business School in 2004.
Stephen is a former Security Manager for Scripps La Jolla Hospital where he developed strategies for emergency management, Security Officer training, conducted terrorism threat assessments.
Stephen is an active member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) Orange County Chapter #40.
